Dear Friends & Neighbors,

Thank you for this great privilege. We’ve got great work ahead of us and I look forward to hearing from you!

I believe  our southwestern suburbs need a common sense, experienced voice working for our families, businesses and neighborhoods in St. Paul.

Last year we saw the longest state government shutdown in our history. Lawmakers, unwilling to compromise,  solved our state’s budget problems by once again borrowing billions of dollars  from our schools.  This is unacceptable – for our children AND our state’s economy.

Common sense solutions – that’s what I’ve heard this summer while knocking on doors. I see firsthand how difficult this economy is – for our local businesses and for working families.  Partisan gridlock at the Capitol limits opportunities, prevents us from planning for the future and stifles creativity.

As a successful international currency trader and small business owner, I understand investment in our schools and infrastructure will drive progress and restore prosperity. My wife and I are active parents in our sons’ experience in the public schools. While our local teachers and administrators are doing all they can, every level of government needs to work harder and more collaboratively to ensure that students have the resources necessary for  academic success!

When I first ran for and served in the House (2009-2010), I was inspired by the people in our district who care so deeply about our community. There’s a proud, common sense understanding that good jobs, first-rate public schools, public safety, civil rights, sound environment, and efficient infrastructure are the foundations of strong communities.  We care about each other.  We want to see each other succeed.

Minnesota’s economy is intertwined with our quality of life-from good schools, to good paying jobs, to sound infrastructure and health care.

I am humbled to serve you the legislature, and hope you will contact me with your ideas, concerns or observations. When I have more office/contact information, I will post it on this site.

Sincerely,
